LFIM full-face mask with filter

LFIM Intervention Mask

A full-face mask assembled for the moment someone has to go in during a lithium battery incident: into the meter cupboard, the storage room or the workshop, to check, shut off or evacuate.

EN 136EN 166BEN 14387

For the first few minutes, before the fire service arrives

A battery incident releases corrosive fumes and gases as well as smoke. An ordinary dust mask does nothing against that. The LFIM mask combines face and eye protection with a gas and vapour filter, so a first responder or employee can enter the space to assess the situation and get people out.

According to the product documentation, depending on the filter type chosen, the mask protects against HF, HCl and LiOH among others. Hydrogen fluoride (HF) is the substance best documented in scientific research into battery fires.

This is not a replacement for the fire service and not an extinguishing agent. It is protective equipment for the minutes before anyone else is on scene.

Where this product fits

  • First-aid and intervention team. Part of the kit for battery incidents.
  • Workshop and dealer. Where batteries are worked with daily.
  • Storage and logistics. Where batteries stand by the pallet.
  • Always call emergency services first. The mask buys time, it does not put out the fire.
